PeopleScout Recognised with Two 2024 RAD Awards

Awards celebrating creativity and innovation in recruitment marketing and employer branding honour PeopleScout for their work with clients

LONDON—February 19, 2024—PeopleScout was the recipient of two 2024 RAD Awards, in the Candidate Experience and Visual Craft categories, as recognition for their work with Heathrow Airport and Kent County Council. PeopleScout was also shortlisted for awards in the Employer Brand-National, Single Use of Video and Use of Technology categories for their work with Circle Health Group, Building Safety Regulator and Heathrow Airport, respectively.

In its 35th consecutive year, the RAD Awards recognise winners across 20 categories, championing the very best in recruitment marketing and employer branding. To be considered for an award, agencies in partnership with their clients, as well as in-house teams, enter their most innovative and effective solutions in talent acquisition, retention and employer branding, from the past year. All entries are judged by a panel of industry experts.

“We are thrilled by this recognition from the RAD Awards for our fresh approach to employer branding and recruitment marketing,” said David Coombs, Head of Talent Advisory for EMEA at PeopleScout. “Our teams continue to outthink the competition, drive creativity and innovation in our solutions, and we remain grateful to our clients for their willingness to embrace these progressive strategies.”

PeopleScout’s winning entries include:

Candidate Experience, Heathrow Airport

With 80 million travellers coming through Heathrow Airport each year, it must screen thousands of potential security officers in what can be a long process for the candidate. Together, the teams developed an innovative technology solution to re-engineer the process so that it was completely virtual, reducing hiring times from weeks to just days.

The judges said PeopleScout’s bespoke candidate portal showed “super strong return on investment” and was a “well thought out, clearly mapped campaign.”

Visual Craft, Kent County Council

An eye-catching, three-dimensional wooden board game brought together employees at Kent County Council, highlighting everything the council could offer them in terms of development, support and rewards.

Judges described this entry as “different and refreshing,” calling it “ambitious and visually unique.” They applauded PeopleScout for the care they took in crafting its design.

PeopleScout’s UK-based talent advisory practice provides world-class expertise in employer branding, social & digital communications, recruitment marketing, assessment, DE&I consulting, talent market insights and more. Time is Running Out to Close the Widening Skills Gap, Reveals New Research from TrueBlue’s PeopleScout in Partnership with Spotted Zebra

Study reveals 90 percent of HR leaders believe that half of their workforce will need to be reskilled in the next five years

23 January 2024 – TrueBlue (NYSE: TBI), a leading provider of specialised workforce solutions, today announced the results of a comprehensive study from leading recruitment process outsourcing provider PeopleScout, a TrueBlue company, and Spotted Zebra, an award-winning HR tech company. The study’s findings demonstrate the surprising conclusion that nine out of 10 HR leaders believe that up to 50 percent of their workforce will need to be reskilled in the next five years, with only seven percent reporting an active investment in their reskilling programs.

Global Labor Trends & the Skills Countdown

The pivotal research report, The Skills Crisis Countdown, offers an unprecedented look into the evolving workforce skills landscape and the growing disconnect between employee capabilities and business needs that highlights the importance of adopting a skills-based talent acquisition and management strategy. An estimated 85 million jobs could go unfilled by 2030 that will cost $8.5 trillion in lost revenue, according to The World Economic Forum. The report indicates talent shortages are the most widespread across industries including education, hospitality, healthcare, technology, and manufacturing. Approximately 80 percent of organisations reported their top workforce challenge is recruiting skilled talent, followed by retaining key personnel and upskilling current employees.

Employers are Ill-Prepared for the Future

Global trends like automation, AI adoption, the green economy and workforce demographic shifts are rapidly changing the skills needed for jobs, making skills gaps and shortages more acute. Despite this essential need for skills alignment, companies continue to prioritise degrees and experience over skills when making hiring decisions. This may be rooted in an overall unfamiliarity with skills-based talent strategies, as one in two HR leaders admitted to lacking an understanding of skills-based practices that would support these workforce strategies.

“As a trusted talent advisor to a vast portfolio of clients across almost all industries, we are seeing that the widening skills gap is one of the top challenges facing organisations today,” said Rick Betori, President of PeopleScout & EVP of TrueBlue. “This new research is a critical step in understanding the current disconnect between the demands of the future workforce and traditional hiring practices, ultimately emphasising why skills-based talent strategies are now mission critical for an organisation’s long-term success.”

Technology Accelerates the Skills Conversation

Technology adoption is accelerating the need to evolve skills, with 50 percent of HR leaders anticipating that job roles at their organisations will transform due to shifts in required skill sets. However, the report reveals another disparity regarding perceived importance of technology skills. Despite skyrocketing demand, both employers and employees undervalue skills in technology, ranking it second to last when asked which skills are most important for the future. Furthermore, 34 percent of employers lack any plans for workforce adoption of automation and AI.

“In just a few short months, GAI went from an abstract concept to a tangible force with dramatic impacts worldwide. Skills profiles across industries have already changed dramatically and will continue to evolve rapidly,” said Simon Wright, Global Head of Talent Advisory Consulting of PeopleScout. “This research reveals that many HR leaders are not ready for this transformation. Closing the widening skills gap will require better alignment on the importance of tech literacy.”

Becoming a Skills-Based Organisation

“Skills-based talent strategies are essential, and the clock is ticking for employers across all regions and industries,” said Nick Shaw, Founder & Chief Customer Officer of Spotted Zebra. “Without future-focused skills strategies for both hiring and development, organizations will suffer lost revenue and productivity when critical jobs are left unfilled.”

Shaw and Wright will present the research findings in a webinar on Thursday, 1 February 2024, at 11 am CST. Register for the webinar here.

The PeopleScout report combined data from more than 2,000 employees surveyed across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America and insights from a statistically significant number of senior Human Resources and Talent Acquisition leaders from organizations around the world, across sectors and sizes.

RPO leader celebrated for their creative candidate experience strategy

LONDON – 18 December 2023 – PeopleScout was named the winner of the Candidate Experience Award at the 2023 Personnel Today Awards for their work in partnership with their client Heathrow Airport.

With overseas travel returning to normal, Heathrow has more than 80 million travellers passing through its doors each year. The recruitment process is now more scalable, and since the time of the enhancements, Heathrow has processed approximately 90,000 applications, with the overwhelming majority of candidates giving positive feedback on the candidate experience.

“We are honoured and truly proud to be recognised along with Heathrow at The Personnel Today Awards,” said PeopleScout’s EMEA Managing Director Jon Porter. “We are grateful for the trust our client partners placed in us, without which we would not have been able to create and deliver a best-in-class candidate experience. PeopleScout Recognised with Three 2023 Recruitment Marketing Awards

UK-Based Awards Program Gives Distinction for PeopleScout’s Innovation and Creativity in Their Work with Clients

LONDON – November 15, 2023 – PeopleScout has been named a three-time winner in the 2023 Recruitment Marketing Awards. The awards recognise the company’s success in campaign development, art direction and recruitment website design for their clients. PeopleScout also made the shortlist for the Video (£15,001+), Employer Brand, Recruitment Effectiveness and Agency of the Year awards.

Since its launch in 1980, the Recruitment Marketing Awards have recognised excellence and professionalism in recruitment marketing and talent management. A total of 26 awards were given this year. One winner is selected in each category, after careful review by two judging panels.

“These honours from the Recruitment Marketing Awards and recognition among our industry peers are a testament to our team’s expertise and creativity,” said PeopleScout Head of Talent Advisory, David Coombs. “We remain grateful for the trust our clients place in us to develop new and unique ways of attracting and engaging top talent.”

PeopleScout’s winning entries include:

Campaign of the Year and Best Art Direction – Herts Care Careers
Herts Care enlisted PeopleScout’s help in creating a bright, vibrant and playful campaign to help make careers in the care industry more sought after and seen in a new light. The bold, attention-grabbing and inspiring art direction delivered Herts Care’s ambition—visuals used brought a “sense of adventure” to people in the health company’s care and represented the love-of-life in the individuals they seek to support. Judges said the concept was “creative, fun and showcased a different side of the organisation.”

Best Recruitment Website (under £50,000) Home Office

Struggling to meet objectives because of misconceptions about what it means to be a civil servant, the Home Office sought PeopleScout’s expertise to create a new recruitment website and develop a targeted employer brand. The team created an approach that was thoroughly researched, evidenced and tested, and was designed to supercharge the user experience and change perceptions about working at the Home Office. To attract people to consider careers with the organisation, the visual style of the website incorporated a contemporary colour palette and emphasised diversity in its imagery. The site surpassed the initial target of 100,000 users in the first 12 months, attracting 458,847 users within the first year. Judges called the website “creative, different from the usual government scope and very engaging.”
